Magical Alphabet

Magical alphabet is a set of letters and / or symbols that are used in magic and divination. The magical alphabets held multiple purposes like practicing magic, encoding and transmitting secret messages but also as a written languages to spread messages and for instance on tomb stones and notes for others. Magical alphabets can be used to practice alchemy, astronomy, future telling and can hold a wide variety of magic uses. With runes for instance you can make bind runes, combining runes and their meaning to fit a person or a purpose, like protection or healing. The use of magical alphabets can be found across different cultures and traditions. The alphabets contribute to mystique and traditional aspects of magical practices, providing practitioners with a tool for encoding, transmitting and enhancing the potently of the magical intentions. They can also act in symbolic communication, adding an extra layer of meaning to messages in magic rituals and writings. 

Known magical alphabets are: 

  • Theban Script: Attributed to the legendary magician Cornelius Agrippa, Theban is often used in modern Wicca and other pagan practices.

  • Elder Futhark Runes: A runic alphabet used by the ancient Germanic tribes. Each rune has its own symbolic meaning and magical significance.

  • Ogham: An ancient Celtic script consisting of notches and lines along a central stem, typically inscribed on stones or sticks.

  • Celestial Alphabet: Created by Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, this script is associated with the angelic realm and used in ceremonial magic.

  • Malachim Script: Attributed to the angelic realm, this alphabet is used in various magical traditions for angelic invocations.

  • Enochian Script: Developed by John Dee and Edward Kelley during the 16th century, this complex alphabet is associated with Enochian magic and angelic communication.
